With the high costs of setting up a brick and mortar business, many entrepreneurs have ventured online considering an online business requires minimal costs to get started. And it's true. The good thing about an internet business is the income is mostly on auto-pilot and it's passive meaning once you get the work done, it can reap benefits for many many years without you doing anything. This means you'll have more freedom and be more flexible in life. For instance, you can be away on vacation relaxing somewhere on a tropical island, having fun, sleeping, eating but still making money without lifting a finger. It doesn't get any better than this. Many online entrepreneurs usually just work a few hours per day but definitely can take time off whenever they want. They can even work in their pajamas and there is no need for an alarm work very early in the morning to go to the dreaded 9-5 rat race.
Why am I telling you all this is because I've been there too and it's been 11 years now I've quit the 9-5 lifestyle because I got so fed up of it at one point in my life. The most important thing for me was to have more freedom and of course to get more income streams. Yep you heard it right, "income streams". An online business can provide you the luxury to have many different income sources. There are so many ways to make money online. One of the most popular methods of generating money on the Internet is by building content-rich websites and recommending products. This works because people usually go on the Internet to look for information and if the product you're selling is targeted to their needs, then there is a high chance they will buy it. So what you need is targeted traffic initially.
Targeted traffic is vital to the success of your business. I still remember how I struggled with traffic in the past because I had no clue what I was doing. I was pretty frustrated with all those fast traffic generation strategies which offer promising results but I ended losing hundreds of dollars. I was about to give up thinking that this whole Internet marketing thing was just a joke and that these people making thousands of dollars online were fake. But I was a bit skeptical that money can't be made online and instead, I decided to keep at it. Needless to say, persistence paid off in the end. I went through lots of trial and error but I discovered many things that work to bring more traffic to my websites.
One of these methods was search engine optimization(SEO). I was fascinated with SEO because it was purely passive traffic. I decided to give heart and soul and learn as many things as I can. The strategies and techniques which I've been applying to my websites have consistently paid off and allowed me to generate 164,313 unique targeted visitors from major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN(now Bing). I've sold thousands of products online and made thousands of dollars thanks to SEO. I don't really like to brag but to show you that I know what I'm talking about, I managed to sell different types of products from one of my websites and made loads of money from search engine traffic. I just built a website around a topic am passionate about, created some useful content and implemented my SEO tactics. Once the traffic started coming in, sales were generated. With these kinds of traffic, I managed to sell a high ticket product and received an affiliate commission of $200 which is included in the balance of $786.06. The good thing is that all this targeted traffic I receive comes from the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN(now Bing) and it's totally FREE. Search engine traffic is one of the best type of traffic because people have to type a particular keyword or keyword phrase to find websites related to their interests or to find websites that can offer a potential solution to their problems. So the traffic is usually very targeted and if your site appears among the top, chances are high that they will click on yours.
If you have a website selling a good product and you have a high search engine ranking PLUS a well-crafted sales copy, you can be sure to get orders pouring into your site with all this targeted traffic.
But to rank high in the search engine result pages(SERPs), you need to know how to play the search engine game and please the search engines or else, you risk getting banned or get poor rankings.
